CT scanning is chosen in diagnosing urgent conditions, such as cerebral hemorrhage, clots in the arteries of the lungs, appendicitis, and obstructing kidney stones. It can also take pictures of body organs, such as the liver, pancreas, intestines, kidneys, bladder, adrenal glands, lungs, and heart.
